BACKGROUND
Special USER Interaction
Different strategies employed by special participants to control their pointing devices (MI02 uses his chin).
EXAMINATIONS
-
We want to understand the user and know his/her needs to assist in his interactions with the website as efficiently as we can.
-
We made some tests like the ones below that collects data related to users' interacting with a general website.
OUR APPROACH
We tried to change the layout of the website by modifying the DOM element dimensions with respect to the calibrated data received from users. Changing the layout often distorts the website which can be detrimental to the intended function. So we modified our approach by designing a voice-controlled command system as a Google Chrome extension.
INTERFACES
First, use any keyboard shortcut to open Reshape in any web browsers.
The Fitts Law Measurements tests how fast you can detect and click a sequence of green circles to determine average mouse moving speed.
The Steering Law Measurement tests the ability to operate a dropdown interface and records user response time.
The Crossing Law Measurement tests how fast the user can move a circle across a fixed line.
The User Test results compare the user's average test scores against the baseline to show variance and adjust functions such as zoom for each user.
User Voice to help the user navigate websites and execute basic commands such as search or text enlargement.
